Geraldine (Erne) Betzenheimer, 81, of Kelleys Island, went to be with our Lord Aug. 20, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Jan. 14, 1937, on Kelleys Island and was a lifetime resident. She was a 1954 graduate of Kelleys Island High School, a member of the Historical Society, and a lifetime member of St. Michael's  Catholic Church. She retired as Postmaster from the Kelleys Island Post Office in 1999. Her favorite pastime, after retiring was knitting, crocheting, cooking, and visiting with her many friends.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter Pamela (Michael Dwight) Betzenheimer of Kelleys Island, and her sister Renetta Matso of Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Betzenheimer, parents Roy and Iva (Riedy) Erne, brother Robert Erne, 4 brothers-in- law Lloyd Matso, John, Alvin, and Frances Betzenheimer, and sister-in-law Florence Betzenheimer McKillips.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Sept, 17, 2018, at 11:00 am in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 219 Chappel St., Kelleys Island, OH. The Rev. Frank Kehres and Deacon Mike will officiate and burial will be in Kelleys Island Cemetery.
