George A. Blankenship, age 64, of Willard, passed away Monday morning, January 26, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Willard, following a battle with cancer.

He was born December 12, 1961, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1980.  George earned his associates degree from Terra Tech, Fremont, where he was a Phi Theta Kappa.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of The Chapel, Sandusky campus.  George was a long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he was a sponsor and friend to anyone who needed him, day or night.  He worked for Ford Motor Company for 13 years, CSX railroad for 10 years as a conductor and engineer, and Pepperidge Farm as a forklift driver. George loved to play Santa Claus during Christmas time, it gave him great joy and fulfillment to see the cheer and happiness he provided to the children.

He is survived by his children Tiffany (Clifford) Packer, Corey Culver, Christina (nee: Blankenship) Bentley, Chelsea Blankenship, Benjamin (Allie) Bradner, and Dylan (Abigail Schwab) Kubach; four grandchildren Aiden, David, Beverly, and Cypress; brothers Rush Gregory (Diana) Blankenship and John Crockett Blankenship; and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents Rush and Millie (Hinkle) Blankenship; sister Angela Olds; and brother Frankie Blankenship.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon, Saturday January 31, 2026, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
