CASTALIA, Ohio - Frances I. Cobb, 67, of Castalia died Saturday night, July 26, 2014, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born February 7, 1947, in Jacksonville, Illinois, and was a 1965 graduate of Lamphard High School in Springfield, Illinois. She was a member of the Church of God and taught at several Christian schools for many years. The family was proud that she gave sight to someone by donating her eyes to the eye bank.
Frances is survived by her husband, Donald D. Cobb Sr., to whom she was married for 48 years; one son, Donald (Lisa) Cobb Jr. of Fredericktown, Ohio; five grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Brandon, Kristen and Caleb Cobb; four sisters, Bonnie Shinn, Betty Burrow, Shirley Vieira and Nola Vieira; two brothers, Bob and James Vieira; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen Vieira; and one sister, Mary Cannon.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Ransom Funeral Home in Castalia and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, until time of services at 11 a.m. at the Church of God in Sandusky. Pastors Samuel Studer and Ben Patrick will officiate. Burial will be at Castalia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church of God.
