Evelyn C. Zeller, age 96, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

She was born March 3, 1920, in Huron, Ohio, and attended Sandusky High School. Evelyn owned and operated "Evelyn's Cake Decorating and Supplies", retiring after more than 25 years of service.  She was very well known for her cake decorating and not only taught adult education classes at local schools, she also won many awards for her talent of decorating cakes.  Evelyn loved tending to her flowers and gardens and looked forward to the times she could be with her friends and family to celebrate the gifts God's blessings provided.

Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky, where she was very active in many groups within the church.  She was a member of the Women of the Church, President of the Bible Study Club, taught Sunday School, and was on the Bereavement Committee.  Evelyn was a member of the Firelands Hospital Auxiliary and Lutheran Memorial Home Auxiliary for many years.  She received several awards for the volunteer work she did throughout her life.  She was honored at the Ohio Osteopathic Association Convention as the 22nd Annual Ohio Guild Volunteer of the Year Award winner and she was recognized at the Women of Excellence Celebration for her volunteer work at Firelands Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter Marlene (Richard) Long, two sons Louis (Jean) Zeller Jr. and Douglas (Vanessa) Zeller Sr.; seven grandchildren Jennifer Long, Tricia (Scott) Stradtman, Michelle (Steve) Wendland, Kirsten (Robert) Stumpo, Nathan Zeller, Allison (Jacob) Kwilos, and Douglas (Michelle) Zeller Jr.; eleven great grandchildren Addison and Claire Stradtman, Kaleb and Kaitlyn Wendland, Anthony and Ellia Stumpo, Jesse, Hannah and Avalyn Kwilos, and Liam and Zofia Zeller; two sisters Sister Mary Mona and Carole Jean Kromer; two brothers Dr. Robert Kromer and Charles (Kathy) Kromer; sister in-law Betty Kromer; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Louis Zeller; parents Leonard and Cecelia (Good) Kromer; three sisters Margorie Bauer, Shirley Brown, and Ramona Kromer; and four brothers Oliver, Gilbert, Kenneth, and Russell Kromer.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 11 AM until time of services at 12 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky.  The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate.  Burial will be in Venice Cemetery.
