Bolinger
December 14, 1929 – September 8, 2018
Eugene W. Bolinger, age 88, of Castalia, died Saturday morning, September 8, 2018, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
He was born December 14, 1929 in Kingwood W.V., where he attended Kingwood High School. Due to the passing of his father at age 14, he lied about his age to enlist into the U.S. Air Force (age 16) in order to support his mother and siblings. Eugene worked for Ford Motor Company for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, Clyde, for almost 50 years. He spent several years coaching Little League baseball. He also loved riding his motorcycle and has toured across the country to California on his Honda Goldwing several times with his wife, Linda. Eugene was a member of the American Legion and Eagles, and was a lifetime member of the VFW and Amvets.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Rohrbacher) Bolinger; three sons Randall Bolinger, Fort Mill S.C., William (Kimberly) Bolinger, Castalia, and Patrick (Michelle) Bolinger, Castalia; three step daughters Donna (Burl) Nesbitt, Diana (Mike) Tuttamore, and Darla Lowe; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; one great grandson; 3 step great grandsons; sister Joy Pirelli, Morgantown, W.V.; brother Asa "Rick" (Sondra) Bollinger, Bridgeport W.V.; and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara (Hawkins) Bolinger, in 1983; parents Asa C. and Ora P. (Elliott) Bolinger; and two brothers Wilford and Thomas Bolinger.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
