Eric S. Hughes, age 54, of Castalia, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic, Main Campus, following a lengthy battle with a lung condition.

He was born January 14, 1969, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1987; where he attended EHOVE.  Eric was a delivery driver for UPS for 20 years; and was president and helped run the Castalia Rec. for many years.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time outdoors in the woods and mountains.

He is survived by his children Scott (Sarah) Hughes, Ashley Hughes, and David Hughes; grandson Liam Hughes; and brother Dennis Hughes.

Eric was preceded in death by his wife Ann Hughes; parents Dewey and Betty (Lundy) Hughes; and brother Richard "Ricky" Hughes.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 1-5 PM at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
