Donald R. Ward Sr., age 77, of Castalia, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 16, 2021, at Heritage Village of Clyde, following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 11, 1943, in Delaware, OH, and graduated from Margaretta High School.  He was a member of York Chapel, Bellevue, and was a foreman at Norfolk-Southern.  Don enjoyed collecting trains, hunting and fishing, and most of all, spending time with grandchildren and great grand children.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Barnett) Ward; two daughters Diane (John) Slone and Christine (Steve) Boesch; two sons Donald Ward and Robert (Bobbie) Ward; step daughter Rose; step son Raymond Brown Jr.; son in-law John Wobser; 10 grandchildren Josh, Melinda, Johnny, Dustin, Amanda, Billy, Danny, Brandy, Sammy, and Robert Jr.; and eight great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his first wife Sherry (Barnett) Ward; daughter Brenda Wobser; step daughter Edie; brother Ron Ward; and a brother in infancy.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 11 AM.  Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
