Donald R. Drummond, Sr., 78, of Castalia, died Friday, April 30, in Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.

He was born May 15, 1942 in Sandusky, and was a 1960 graduate of Margaretta High School. He was employed by Castalia Lumber Yard for many years and retired in 2007 from the Sandusky Register. He served in the U. S. Navy.

Don is survived by 2 daughters Heather (Mark) Lilje and Samantha Kopcho; 5 sons Don Drummond, Jr., Dan (Kim) Drummond, Bill (Heather) Ryerson, Joe Ryerson, and David Kopcho, Sr.; 18 grandchildren Todd May, Shawn May, Jade (Eljay) Phillips, Alex Drummond, Jordan (Cortnie) Lilje, Derek (Alexa) Drummond-Reid, Steven (Cassidy) Grimes, John Grimes,, Angel Ryerson, Danielle Drummond, Maxayla Ryerson, Will Ryerson, Kody Lilje, Jayden Bates, Lillyan Ryerson, Gabriel Ryerson, Julian Kopcho, David Kopcho, Jr.; 3 great grandchildren Macy May, Kinsley Hennessey-Reid and Ben Grimes; his fiancé Nadine Hook; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Marjorie Drummond and 2 sisters Susan Leigh and Donna Hupp.

It was his wish to be cremated. Graveside services for the family will be held in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
