Dennis W. Smecker, age 76, of Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, October 30, 2020, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

He was born September 26, 1944, in Munhall PA, and graduated from Munhall High School.  Dennis served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Danielle (Tad) Downing, Castalia, three grandchildren Caden, Cassie, and Colton Hillis; and three brothers Wayne, Donald, and Raymond Smecker.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna Smecker; and brother Frank Smecker.

There will be no services, and cremation has taken place.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
