Denise "Nikki" Cruz, 44, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, at her residence.

She was born June 5, 1973, in Sandusky, and was a 1992 graduate of Margaretta High School. She was employed as a medical assistant by the Cleveland Clinic.

Nikki is survived by her mother Dixie Cruz of Sandusky; sister Jean (Kevin)  Cruz-Smith of Sandusky; her companion and love of her life Joe George, Jr. of Sandusky; special niece Emmah Smith; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Sylvester "Shorty" Cruz; Uncle Terry Rickard, and Aunt Joanne Daniels.

Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-8 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 16, 2017. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
