Carol S. Greene, age 71, of Castalia, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in her residence surrounded by her family following a 4 year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born Dec 13, 1946, in Sandusky, and was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed by Margaretta Schools and for over 20 years served on the Cold Creek Festival Committee in Castalia. She loved being with her family and friends  as well as her many friends in Florida, where she spent winters with Stan after retiring.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, where she was a past Sunday School teacher, and Gamma Psi Sorority of Castalia. She also helped for many years with Project Share.

Carol is survived by her husband Stanley, with whom she celebrated their Golden Anniversary  on Nov. 16, 2018; her daughter Jennifer (Chuck Wagner); 4 grandchildren Gabby, Brayden, Jaxon, and Kaylee; her mother Marie Severance; brother Joe (Donna) Severance; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph F. Severance in 1999.

Friends may call from 4-8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where private family services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
