Betty L. Moltz, 96, of Castalia, died Saturday morning, June 6, 2026, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, surrounded by her family members.

She was born June 15, 1929 in Port Clinton, and was a 1948 graduate of Port Clinton High School where she played in the marching band. She worked at the former Philco Co. following high school, where she met her husband Donald, to whom she married in 1949, for 70 years until he died in 2019. Betty and her husband were very active at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sandusky.

Betty loved quilting, watching baseball and basketball, traveling, gardening, playing games and reading mystery novels. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by 4 daughters Donna (Thomas) Otto of Monroeville; Diane Peltier of Apple Valley, MN; Denise (Tim) Grundler of Farmington, MN; and Dorene (Scott) Damschroder of Bowling Green, OH; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald W. Moltz; parents Mary and Arthur Mefferd; daughter Debora Moltz; brother Robert Mefferd; and son-in-law Barry Peltier.

Friends may call from 10:00 am Wednesday, June 10, 2026, until time of services at 1:00 pm in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Minister Beth Kieffer, Grace Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
