Betty J.
Bohn
October 9, 1932 – April 1, 2026
Betty Jayne (Williams) Bohn, of Castalia, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
She was born in Sandusky on October 9, 1932, to the late Cleota (Schnell) and Robert J. Williams. Betty was a proud 1950 graduate of Margaretta High School where she participated in Journalism Club and was also a cheerleader. After graduation, Betty worked for a brief period of time at Elmer Borchardt Trucking, Castalia. She met her future husband, Bill L. Bohn, at Downing's Barn, a popular dance hall. They later married December 8, 1951, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sandusky. Betty quickly went from being a "city girl" to a "country bride" and was a loving homemaker and mother. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, where she and Bill were members of the former "Mr. and Mrs. Club". She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Betty was active in Circle and volunteered with Bereavement luncheons. Her church family was very dear to Betty.
Betty is survived by her children Bobbi (Mark) Kastor, N. Fort Myers, FL, Billy (Kathy) Bohn, Barry (Maggie) Bohn, and Becky Bohn, all of Castalia; grandchildren Brian (Allison) Bohn, Andy (Andrea) Bohn, Kevin Bohn, Karyn Barnette, Jameson Yingling, Jarrett (Lindsey) Yingling, Jordan (Darcy Nardotti) Yingling, and Justine Yingling; Grandma Great to Gavin, Maycee, Xavier (Morgan), Xander, Jaxson, Jerzie, Kolton, Danika, Karter, Briella, Vinny, Bennett, Kynlee, Jettsen, Kamryn, Pierson, Avett, and Huxley; sister in-law Pat Bohn, Castalia; and several nieces and nephews.
For many years, Betty and Bill prepared with much love Sunday dinners for their family.
In addition to Bill and her parents, Betty was preceded in death by in-laws who never treated her like an in-law Mildred (Strecker) and George P. Bohn, Patricia and Duane Gardner, Jack and Virginia Bohn, Max Bohn, and George F. and Dolores Bohn; half siblings Margaret Reed, Buddy Williams, and Anna Ballah.
Betty's family would like to thank the A Team Nursing Caregivers, the staff at The Commons of Providence Assisted Living, and the nurses at Stein Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
