Marlene Scurlock, age 74, of Castalia, died peacefully Saturday morning, March 17, 2018, at the Willows at Bellevue with family by her side following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 30, 1943, in Sandusky, Ohio. She was a member of the first graduating class of Perkins High School in 1961. She was a homemaker and for many years worked at the Castalia Market and the Commons of Providence. She was a faithful and dependable mother, wife, friend and employee and always had a smile. In her words "I wouldn't change a thing."
She is survived by daughter Tera (Eric) Scherer, Phoenix, AZ; three sons Bill Gonzales, Marysville; Brian Gonzales, Bay View; and Joe (Tina) Gonzales, Medina; eight grandchildren Jessica Gonzales, Alyssa Myers, Seth Gonzales, Haley Schuster, Dustin Maddocks, Ashley Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, and Travis Scurlock; nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a sister Judy, and her brother Bill (Ernie). She loved to spend time with Bill and Ernie, who were especially helpful in her time of need.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Terry Scurlock; her parents Charles and Evelyn Hansen; her beloved younger sister Marsha and brother Scott, and first husband Jose S. Gonzales.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
