Leonard L. Keegan, age 85, of Castalia, died Saturday afternoon, March 3, 2018, in his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born December 2, 1932, in his home in Riley Township to parents Leonard and Carrie (Meek) Keegan. He graduated from Townsend School in 1953, and then went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Leonard was a farmer and worked at Lorain Steel as an operating engineer. He was a member of the Castalia Congregational U.C.C, and he enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, hunting, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by four daughters Marilynn (James) Swain, Margaret (Barry) Bohn, Roseann (Paul) Cantiberry, and Christine (Jeff) Hemmer; three sons Leonard Keegan III, William (Kathy) Keegan, and John (Karen) Keegan; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn (Rider) Keegan; parents Leonard and Carrie (Meek) Keegan; sister Marilyn (Robert) Dauch; grandson Gary Keegan; two nephews Gary and Teddy Dauch; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhurst Cemetery.
