Daniel L. Seckman, 58, of Castalia, a loving father, grandfather, and friend, passed away late Friday night, April 20, 2018 at his residence. He battled COPD for several years.
Dan was born May 8, 1959 in Sandusky. He was the son Everett I. Seckman, Sr and Florence M. (Jennings) Seckman. He was a 1977 graduate of Sandusky High School, where he studied Vocational Carpentry. Dan was on the tennis and golf teams, where he was Co-MVP in golf. His last employment was with Stan Greene Construction as a finish carpenter, and was formerly employed at Brad Moyer Roofing, where he was a foreman. Dan enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing and was an avid fan of all Cleveland Sports, Cavs, Indians, and the Browns. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his Special Friend, companion and high school Sweetheart, Sharon Cooksey; sons, Bradley (Marne) Titchenell, Daniel (Laura) Seckman and Zach (Brandy) Seckman; daughter Lisa Conley; mother Florence Seckman and sister Patti Powell; 5 grandchildren Cora, Camden, Parker, Luke, & Connor; nephews Timothy Powell, Blaine and Rick Seckman; nieces, Dawn Patterson & Kimberly Lovejoy; and several cousins and extended families.
He was preceded in death by his wife Chris Seckman in 2007; father Everett I. Seckman, Sr. in 1986 and brother Everett I. Seckman, Jr. in 2004.
Friends may call from 10 AM until time of Celebration of Life at 11 AM Friday, May 4, 2018, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate.
