Dorothy R. Thomas

Dorothy R. Thomas, age 79, of Bay View, passed away Thursday evening, February 29, 2024, in her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 26, 1945, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School.  Her most recent job was manager of the Bay View Center, and she was a full-time domestic caregiver to her family.  Dorothy was baptized into the Christian Church.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey (Tammy) Thomas, Charles Thomas, Lisa (Bob) Garcia, and adopted son James (Laura) Duncan; grandchildren Toni Thomas, Jason Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Jared Garcia,  and Jacob Garcia; great grandchildren Tateum Jones, Delaney Russell, Morly Thomas, Charlee Thomas, Kennedy Thomas, and Michael Thomas; siblings Jack Preston, Thelma Preston, Roberta Preston, Dixie Preston, and Cristina Halbert; sister in-law Joyce Howell; nieces and nephews Wallie Kincaid, Marilyn Tucker, Pricilla Fox, Nora MaHaRaJa, and Linda Bitner.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Norman Thomas; son Louis Thomas; grandson Chuckie Thomas; parents Charles and Vernice Keel; brothers Tommy and Jimmie Preston; and nephew Billy Kincaid.

Friends may call Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 9-11 AM and from 1 PM until time of services at 3 PM, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Pastors Tony Robinson and Wally Kincaid will officiate.
