Willard C. Rohrbacher, age 93, of Sandusky, died Monday afternoon, March 5, 2018, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born May 2, 1924, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1942; where he played on the six man football team. Willard was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in the Marshall Islands during WWII. He worked for Philco and owned and operated Rohrbacher Brothers. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, and a former member of the Castalia Lions Club. Willard was an avid fan of Margaretta High School, Cleveland, and Ohio State sports teams and loved to watch his grandchildren play various sports.
He is survived by his daughter Karen (Dan) Bard, Vickery; son Jeffrey (Barbara) Rohrbacher, Sandusky; five grandchildren Amy (Rob) Egli, PA, Travis Bard, PA, Lisa (Rick) Spohn, North Olmstead, Kiel Rohrbacher, Dayton, and Kevin (Kelcy) Rohrbacher, Dublin; three great grandchildren Grace and Hunter Egli, and Kennedy Rohrbacher; sister in-law Jean Fitz; and several nieces and nephews.
Willard was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Rohrbacher; second wife Gennie Rohrbacher; parents Carl and Rose (Marshke) Rohrbacher; grandson Kurt Rohrbacher, two sisters; and one brother.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM, Friday, March 9, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
