How do you put into words what a friend meant to you? We spent so much time together in junior high and on the softball field. We shared secrets, made up goofy dances, and enjoyed each other's company. Life took us in different directions until we reconnected at Heidelberg. She faced difficult circumstances, but she boldly persevered. Her sense of humor and unique perspective brought joy to my heart. She was on my mind recently as I sent her an invitation to a party that took place on the day she passed. I pray that she was able to celebrate her birthday today singing with the angels. Goodbye, my friend. I'm thankful your struggles have come to an end. Until we meet again...

I am proud to say I could call Shonda my very good friend for many years. I'm so sad that life took us different directions. I had not seen her in a long time. I always thought of her when I passed her old upstairs apt on Columbus ave. We had alot of late night bs sessions. I will always have the memories we made to keep her alive in my heart. Like our last minute trip to Canada. Staying in a god awful motel with a broken door. It was so bad we ended up at a friend of Shonda's house. We drove there in her old black n red giant grand prix. It looked like it had been hand painted. On our way back the customs people tore that old car apart and left it for us to put back together. We had to call off work at Country Kitchen it took us so long. She had so many people she knew from all over the world. There wasn't a place she went that she didn't know someone. She always wanted to travel the world as an international business woman. I hope she's flying over every place she wanted to go. Rest easy my old friend. I'll see you again one day. We can laugh at all our old stories. Until then I'll chuckle to myself everytime I drive down Columbus Ave. -Kara
