Lewis D. Miller, age 92, of rural Sandusky, died Thursday night, September 14, 2017, at Bellevue Hospital.

He was born March 10, 1925, in Monroeville and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1943.  He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Scott Air Force base in Illinois.  Lewis worked for Hazelback Plumbing and Heating for 34 years, then was a self-employed HVAC for over 20 years, all while working on his own farm his whole life.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Groton Township, and was the oldest living  member who was baptized in the church.  He served on the church council for many years and was on the Lutheran Memorial Home board since 1982, where he served as President for 13 years.  Lewis loved his animals  and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife of over 71 years, Betty (Brackley) Miller; two daughters Patricia Meisler and Vicki (Konrad) Miller; three grandchildren Ryan, Erin and Stephanie; 8 great grandchildren; brother Paul Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Amanda (Russell) Miller; sister Loretta Zilles; and brothers Wayne Miller and Delbert Miller.

Friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, 9416 St. Rt. 99 N. Monroeville, OH 44847.  Pastor Juli Lejman-Guy will officiate.  Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
