Lawrence "Larry" John Moyer

Lawrence "Larry" John Moyer, age 76, of The Villages, FL, passed away on March 14, 2016, from a massive heart attack outside his Florida home.

He was born in Bellevue, OH, on February 22, 1940, and graduated from Bellevue High School. He worked at Farrell Cheek in Sandusky; Eckrich in Fremont; and retired from Delphi (GM) in Sandusky, as a thermographer and UAW member.

He went from being a snow bird to a full time Florida resident leaving his home of many years in Castalia, for golf all year around right outside his door. Larry just recently hit his first hole in one. He said during the celebration, "buying drinks for twenty-one people is the best money I have ever spent."

He was an excellent golfer, pickle ball, racquetball, and volleyball player, and an all-around great athlete. He was a member of Sandusky Elks, and played in both their bowling league, and their golf league at Thunder Bird Hills; a member of the Erie County golf league at Green Hill; and belonged to Baywinds Racquetball Club. He also loved skiing, and he was a long time member of the Sandusky Ski Club and loved skiing with family and friends. He just hung up his skis in January after skiing with his son one last time in Maryland.

He loved to travel covering the United States by car and motorcycle. He also was a member of the AOPA; and being a licensed pilot, he also traveled in his plane. Larry spent the back nine of his life traveling the world with his life partner, Jeri. They traveled all over the world together from England to Ireland, Scotland to France, and Easter Island to Italy; rounding it off with Australia, Hawaii, and Tahiti. He already had tickets to go to China next month and Alaska this summer.

He is survived by his loving son Kevin Moyer; his daughter Andrea Pendergrass; two sisters Lois Binger and Gladys Newman; grandchildren David, Jaime, Melissa, Allison, Kyle, Brooke, Brandon, Bryce; and great- grandchildren. He also left behind is his life partner Jeri and her family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Hazel Moyer; brother Leo Moyer; son David Moyer; and his wife Joanne Moyer.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday, March 18, 2016, at Ransom Funeral Funeral and Cremation Service 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, Ohio, where services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, March 19, 2016. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ransomfuneralhome.com.

Larry was a kind and caring man, loving father, husband, and partner. The best friend anyone could ever have. The world lost an incredible person far too soon, and he will be deeply missed by all.
