November 29, 1951 ~ February 1, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old

James D. Wilburn, age 65, of Castalia, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, February 1, 2017, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born November 29, 1951, in Middlesboro, Ky., and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1970.  Jim worked for KBI, Sandusky, as an inventory control supervisor, retiring in 2016.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, taking care of his animals, keeping his yard looking perfect, shooting pool, and watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood in old western movies.  He cherished his 1969 Corvette and loved to drive it in the summer.  Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be missed dearly by all. 

He is survived by his wife Kim (Kauble) Wilburn; three daughters Nickole (Greg) Jarrett, Monica (Matt) Riggle, Erica (Justin) Wilson; grandchildren Gregory McGee, Desmond Turner, Alexandria Vickery, Zhane McClain, Cameryn Vickery, Jadea Bothwell, Sierra Wilson, and Parker Wilson; and two great grandchildren Tristen and Naydia Tackett.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Myrtle (Ausmus) Wilburn; and two sons David and Jamie Wilburn.

Friends may call from 8 AM until time of services starting at 11AM Saturday morning, February 4, 2017, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Burial will be in Bellevue city cemetery.
