Iola G. Palmison, age 95, of Castalia, died Sunday night, February 26, 2017, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 28, 1921, in Flat Rock, OH, and was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1938 and was a member of Senior Women's Club of YMCA.  Iola was a cook at Margaretta High School for 20 years and worked at GE in Bellevue for 20 years. 

She is survived by her daughter Brenda (David) Strack; two sons John (Lynn) Palmison and Roger (Sue) Palmison; seven grandchildren Greg (Maura) Strack, Geoff (Jodi) Strack, Leanne Strack, Josh (Maria) Palmison, Amy Palmison, Brittney Palmison, and Anthony (Erika) Palmison; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Iola was preceded in death by her daughter Sylvia Longnecker; parents Arthur and Goldie (Croxton) Taber; sister Adah Glee Andrews; brothers Daryl, Galan, Gerald, and Arthur Taber.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM, Friday, March 3, 2017, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Jim Andrews will officiate.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
