Helen L. Kuns, age 81, of Castalia, died Monday, April 25, 2016, at her residence following injuries sustained in an accident.

She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Sandusky, and was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was a secretary for Margaretta High School for over 30 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, and enjoyed being with her family and being a homemaker.

Helen is survived by her daughter Kay Ann (Derek Fick) Smith of Oak Harbor; her son Martin L. (Laura) Kuns of Highland Heights, OH; 4 grandchildren Martin A. and Vincent Kuns and Justin (Lauren) and Brett Smith; 2 great grandchildren Symon and Lola Smith; and a special cousin Albert Summers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orlan Kuns in Sept., 2015, her parents Samuel and Esther Burr, granddaughter Vanessa Kuns, niece Angela Kuns Tolley and nephew Jeffrey Charles Kuns.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM Thursday, April 28,  until time of services at 12:00 PM in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
