Harriet "Petie" Mallicoat, age 86, of Castalia, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

She was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Castalia, and was a 1947 graduate of Margaretta High School. She was employed by the former Scott Paper Co., and owned and operated Petie"s Tavern in Castalia for many years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

Petie is survived by her daughter Kathleen "Kitty" (Jim) Blake; grandson Zachary (Mona) Blake; granddaughter Meghan (Andrew) Rohde; two great grandchildren Madeline and Elliott Rohde; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ellen (German) Schwinn; sister Katie Marshall; and sister Ruth in infancy.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, OH, and from 10:00 AM Wednesday, Sept. 7, until time of services at 11 AM in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate.
