The Ransom Funeral Home,
Castalia, is located in a rural community in Erie County . As
a born and raised native of this town, Robert Ransom saw a need
for establishing a local funeral home. Having had previous experience
at other funeral homes, he decided to make this dream come true.
In 1977, while continuing to work, he remodeled a farmhouse and
opened this establishment in 1978. In 2003, an addition was added
and opened in the spring of 2004, making it available to serve
two families simultaneously in warm, but spacious surroundings.
A children's area was also added along with kitchen facilities.
Robert started his career as a funeral director and embalmer by graduating
from Cincinnati Mortuary School in 1973. Having grown up in this town,
he is very well acquainted with the local families and is able to provide
compassionate and understanding care to the community. He is very active
in the local Lion's Club, having served as president and enjoys providing
service to his community and surrounding areas.
His wife, Janet, having retired from teaching, joined the firm
in 2005 as a funeral director. Their son, Brett, having graduated
from Cincinnati Mortuary School in 2004, just recently joined
them as an embalmer and funeral director. With this firm being
family-owned, they are able to provide your family with quality
care.
Today Ransom Funeral Home continually strives to provide excellent value
to the families served. As a family-owned and operated establishment they
remain dedicated in making substantial and positive improvements to the community
through their involvement in civic organizations and functions. |
